B5 notebook are traditionally 7.0 x 9.8 inches (176 x 250 mm) to 7.2 x 10.1 inches (182 x 257 mm). They are commonly compared to composition notebook sizes and are on the larger side of the journal spectrum!
What do all these letters and numbers mean? Notebook sizes typically fall into two global systems: the ISO 216 A-series (A4, A5, A6, A10, etc) and the Japanese JIS B-series (B6, B7, B4, etc). There are some outliers such as traveler's size, passport, and pocket. Plus some makers simply create their own size based on their country's standard or available materials/printing process.
