B6 notebooks are 3.5 x 4.9 inches (88 x 125 mm) and are commonly referred to as a passport size. They are one of the smallest sizes and frequently found in top-bound notepads and spiral jotter pads. These are just a tad smaller than traditional Memo size (Field Notes and similar).
What do all these letters and numbers mean? Notebook sizes typically fall into two global systems: the ISO 216 A-series (A4, A5, A6, A10, etc) and the Japanese JIS B-series (B6, B7, B4, etc). There are some outliers such as traveler's size, passport, and pocket. Plus some makers simply create their own size based on their country's standard or available materials/printing process.
