Retro51 Smithsonian Wright Brothers Aeroplane Rollerball Pen

Take flight with one of aviation history's most important achievements. This Officially Licensed Smithsonian rollerball pen from Retro51 celebrates the 1909 Wright Military Flyer—the world's first military airplane and a milestone in the evolution of powered flight.

Developed by Orville and Wilbur Wright for the U.S. Army Signal Corps, the Wright Military Flyer successfully completed government flight trials in 1909 and became the first aircraft purchased by the United States military. The airplane served as a training aircraft before being donated to the Smithsonian Institution in 1911, where it remains a treasured piece of aviation history.

The pen features a detailed schematic drawing of the Wright Military Flyer printed around the barrel with a matte finish, showcasing the innovative engineering that helped shape the future of flight. Antique brass trim complements the vintage-inspired design, while the Smithsonian sun logo is featured on the top disc. Each rollerball is individually numbered on the top ring, making every piece a collectible tribute to this groundbreaking aircraft.

Packaged in a commemorative Smithsonian tube that doubles as a pen stand, this officially licensed Tornado Rollerball is the perfect keepsake for aviation enthusiasts, history buffs, collectors, and anyone inspired by the pioneers who turned the dream of flight into reality.
